Wild Card Recap

Tennessee at Kansas City – The Titans won this game 22-21 after an amazing second half comeback that all started with a miracle play from Mariota. Early in the 3rd quarter the Titans had the ball inside the 10 yard line, Mariota rolled out to the left and threw the ball into the end-zone, it got batted down by Darelle Revis and went right back into his hands. Even with this unfortunate play happening, this was the chiefs game to lose, and they did just that. What’s more surprising than this play, is that the chiefs gave Kareem Hunt 11 carries, the leagues leading rusher… Did they learn nothing from the Falcons?

Atlanta at LA Rams – The falcons went into LA and beat the Rams 26-13. The biggest difference in this game was that the Rams just couldn’t get Gurley going and the Falcons run game was rolling on all cylinders. Matt Ryan also got the best of the Rams defense, as he threw for 218 and a TD with no INTs.

Buffalo at Jacksonville – The Bills made the playoffs for the first time in 17 years, and it was very short lived as they lost 10-3 to the Jags. Even though Shady McCoy was banged up, and Tyrod Taylor had no help from his receivers, it is still very impressive to hold a team to 3 points. Especially in the playoffs. The only reason why this game was close, was because Bortles continued to imitate an NFL QB and came away with the win because of the defense.

Carolina at New Orleans – Drew Brees continued to have success in the playoffs as he lifted the Saints over the Panthers, 31-26. Even though Brees played great, the run game that we saw throughout the season wasn’t there. In fact, this was the panthers game to lose. Cam Newton had an amazing game, despite the loss, this one wasn’t on him. This game showed us that the Panthers are going out in free agency or in the draft and getting Cam a #1 WR. Make no mistake, the Panthers will be back next year and very possibly more dangerous.
